Cronin, Skilton & Skilton is a general practice law firm handling cases primarily ranging from wills and probate, to taxation, contracts, real estate, bankruptcy, family law, personal injury, wrongful death, and other civil litigation.

John R. Cronin started his practice of law in the mid-1930s. He was known all of his 86 years as a very hard working and industrious man who set high standards for himself and others. With a brief interruption to serve as an officer in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard during WWII, he was always on duty for his clients and kept to a rigorous office and appointment schedule all his life. He is the epitome of what we see ourselves as doing for our clients and achieving for ourselves in the future. Iowa is filled with stories similar to John’s and we hope to add to his legacy, as well to our own, carrying on the law firm he started so long ago. John had a general practice and was interested in selecting successors who would continue his traditions, centering on probate, estates, and real estate, while taking care of the clients he had served for so many years. We believe that each general practitioner is actually a highly skilled specialist—a specialist in listening, research, and selec tion of resources necessary to direct the cause and the client to the desired result. We believe this accurately describes what we do day in and day out and is simply a continuation of what John started with a few additions: our experience, our tenacity, and our technical ability to tap into the resources necessary to achieve great results.
